Henry Davies Hicks was born 5 March 1915 at Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. Hicks received a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Allison University in 1936, a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University in 1937, and a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Civil Law from Oxford University in 1939 and 1940 respectively. In 1941, he joined the army and became a specialist in radar. He had reached the rank of captain by the time of his discharge in 1945. In October 1945, Hicks was elected the Member of the Legislat...
